We should try to avoid processed foods and the key to doing this is planning and keeping healthy foods handy. Also, we should try and minimise our purchase of attractively packed "easy to eat foods" which says "no preservatives" added. Though they may be better in nutritive value than some other foods available in the market, they cannot substitute freshly cooked food.
I would like to add the general
Food Pyramid from U.S. Department of Agriculture with the article to make sure that people with food allergies are getting the right type of foods.
A pyramid that helps substitute the allergy foods with alternative does not exists. You will have to do some analysis to figure out way to include different foods to create a balanced diet. The best that is out there is from the U.S. Department of Agriculture which can be customized per your life style, culture, ethnicity etc.
Some handy healthy snack ideas:
1.Celery with sunflower or
soy butter.
2.Keep cooked lentils or quinoa ready in small containers refrigerated and add them to
pancake or
cake batters.
3. Use avocados and guacomole instead of sour cream while fixing mexicam foods.
4. Always remember an apple a day keeps the doctor away.
5. Use Dates, raisins, craisins, and figs to satisfy
sweet cravings.
So please get started on a fresh food diet and see the difference. Please plan ahead and remember it does take a lot more time to fix healthy foods but the results are long term.
Good luck and stay healthy.
